“KIDS DON’T GO TO FILM FESTIVALS, LET’S TAKE THE FESTIVAL TO THE KIDS”
Today’s generation is an avid audio – visual learner, making it imperative to expose them to the best audio – visual content, Tagore Public School, Shastri Nagar, hosted the “International Kids Film Festival (IKFF ) -2019”, Watch Cinema Program from 13th to 16th November, marking Children’s Day, where the children of different age groups were invited to enroll to watch over 100 award winning movies, selected by the jury members like Anan Nikina (Ambassador, Education Innovations, Hundred Finland), Jaya Bachchan (Actor, Member of Parliament, India), John Edmond ( Film Director, Queensland Film festival), Manisha Koirala ( Actor), Mirjam Marks ( Filmmaker, Head of Television, Cinekid Media Festival), Sriram Raghavan (Director and Screenwriter) and the other eminent members of the Jury team.
The shows were scheduled age wise. Kids at IKKF watched the movie and also learn the art of film making and make films. These carefully curated films for different age groups revolved around social, psychological & behavioural issues. There were 96 films from 30 countries in 20+ languages (with subtitles). These films were exclusive as they are not available on any mainstream channels or social platforms & were a unique opportunity to expose our young generation to different languages, culture, emotions & challenges.
